About Krog Insurance

Hi, I'm Jon Krog from Krog Insurance. I'd like to take a moment to tell you a little bit about our agency.

My dad Jon Krog Sr. started Krog Insurance as an American Family Insurance agency in 1986 in Virginia, MN. After college, I also started my insurance career at American Family Insurance, and soon thereafter joined my dad at Krog Insurance.

After a number of years, we found that representing a single insurance company was not in our customers best interest. Representing a single company limited eligibility, coverage options, and price. Because of this, we chose to become an independent insurance agent, representing several insurance companies, giving ourselves and our customers more choices when insuring their cars, homes, and other property they might have.

One thing that you will find that sets Krog Insurance apart from other agencies is that we personally answer the phone. Whether you have a question about your bill, or you have a possible claim, you'll always have someone to talk to.

I have been with them for a very long time. Everyone is very helpful and I call a lot to make changes and it's never an issue and done quickly, I can get a text with my ID card if needed or a quick email. Great service. Would definitely recommend.

Krog Insurance has the best customer service. Anytime I ever have a question or need to make a change to my car insurance policy, I send them an email and I always get a response within a day (typically within hours)! Insurance can be hard to figure out on your own, especially if you’re young and inexperienced. Krog makes insurance so easy for me and I really appreciate their team! Worst insurance company ever. Some how they added teen drivers to our insurance and then couldn’t figure out to remove them. We canceled with them 1 year ago our auto and house. Them never canceled so we just got a cancellation from our current company cause our mortgage escrow was still being sent to them. Customer service is horrible can never get a hold of anyone that knows what is going on.

if I could leave a negative "one" review, I would.
I was in excellent hands until my previous agent retired and transferred our policies to Krog Insurance. The lack of follow up, communication, and inaccurate insurance information was horrible quality and service. We are a large personal account with numerous insured items and never once did Jon Krog, the agent/owner, ever reach out to us or take our call. We have since gone a different direction and requested in documented emails and cancellation request forms sent from our new agency to cancel our policies with Krog Insurance and were ignored. We had to cancel almost two weeks later on our own when we realized we were being double billed.

Reached out for quotes on car and home insurance, which took 2 weeks to obtain. Was asked to provide the same information on multiple occasions. I needed to reach out to them asking for updates, as I was concerned about the delays. Overall their office seemed unorganized. They did subsequently reach out and apologized for the mistake and provided a thorough review of options.

For several years I thought I had a wonderful experience with this agency, however, I could always tell that Hanna only tolerated my family, she is awful at faking good customer service. She has left me in tears more than once with her curt often thoughtless manner. Today is no exception. I will be leaving this agency with a very bitter taste in my mouth and will not be recommending them in the future quite the opposite. I will also work to find my Mom another broker as soon as possible and any of my friends that I have referred previously. BEWARE and get everyting in writing! They will NOT stand behind you and will LIE about what transpired.

When I first moved to the Cities a few years ago, I needed to establish auto insurance and renters insurance and I decided to go with a local, independent agent. Krog Insurance has been an exceptional choice for me. My questions and claims have always been addressed quickly, compassionately, and professionally.
